In the Locks

Our shore excursion gave us some perspective on the huge Gorges dam, but it was not clear enough to see it from view sites where we were officially scheduled to stop. We just could not see the immensity of the project. Too bad pollution is still so horrible. It was nice in the sun when we reboarded and we enjoyed seeing the Yangtze shoreline that will not be flooded on this low side of the dam. We found our local guide and bus waiting for us in Yichang where we sadly disembarked from the Victoria Empress. After a very rough 3&1/2 hour ride we pulled into our hotel in Wuhan, the Binhu, a very nice one night stand. We were very tired so we slept well from 10:30-6AM.
