    CuChi Tunnels

Our 6 AM breakfast at the Rex had barely been set out but looked sumptuous when we have more time to eat. Another long day on the bus, too long for Ann. It feels like Cu Chi Tunnel tour should be expiation enough for US part in the VN War.

    Service Inside Cao Dai Temple

Revived by the giddy unreality of the Cao Dai Temple, we were captivated by the religious service despite our tourist-crammed standing galleries above the sanctuary. The elaborately decorated temple and large campus was slightly run down due to the fall off of worshippers of this mongrel religion, but the stagey service was moving with white clad parishioners, brightly robed priests, droning music with gongs and chanting. We experienced about 15 minutes of the hour long service held 4 times daily.

We sped on to a good lunch and returned to Saigon at 4:45 and found a jeweler several blocks from the Hotel who repaired Ann’s sun glasses before eating dinner at an Italian estaurant - quite tasty pizza and pasta. Look forward to sleeping in a bit tomorrow.
