On this warm and slightly overcast morning we enjoyed a good breakfast cut short by a dash to Thu Thuy’s shop for a fitting. With our unscheduled time we also checked email and enjoyed reading about our offspring also on holiday. We walked along the river through a very crowded covered market and back to Mrs. Vy’s for pastry- coconut tart and mango crisp which were delicious with VN coffee and tea. Time for some shopping at the handicraft store and watching wood carvers before we returned to the hotel for Ann to enjoy a swim in the beautiful and cool pool. Spotted Mandy who had timed her swim better so that she could also visit the beauty shop adjacent to the pool.

Walked to lunch at Ms Ly’s which was worth the repeat of yesterday's menu. Then 6 of us took a boat across the river to an elementary school where we had tea with staff, visited a classroom, played recess games with the children and delivered donated school supplies and cash for books. In the classroom it was fun to see Ms Thuy demonstrate her no-nonsense but engaging style of instruction as a former teacher.

From the school we walked to the Lighthouse Cafe on the bank of the river before the ferry was summoned to get us back across the river. Had time for another suit fitting before dinner at a good seafood restaurant where we first enjoyed milk apples.
