We got up early and were transported to the train station with our bikes and our luggage. We had to take the local train because the express had no baggage car (our bikes had to go into the baggage car). The train ride was long but very interesting. We had second class tickets which put us into a car with semi-soft seats. We made many stops at minor and major Thai towns. Vendors boarded the train at various stations and left at later stops. They sold a wide variety of food and drinks.

When we arrived in Uttaradit, it was a short stop. Some of us had to rush to the baggage car to get the bicycles while the rest of us got our luggage off of the passanger car. Teamwork paid off because everything arrived successfully. We stayed at The Seeharaj Hotel, an excellent three-star establishment.
