We drove to Florence on September 11, dropped off John and Suellen at the train station, turned in our rental car and checked into our hotel. The Bellevue House was up four long flights of stairs, but it was comfortable and quiet. The owner was very nice and spoke perfect English. It was near the train station and within walking distance of every place we wanted to visit.

On September 12, we visited the Uffizi Gallery in the morning and the Pitti Palace in the afternoon. For dinner, we were able to find the restaurant that we ate in on a previous visit with the Benson's and Parkhurst's.
