The Four Points By Sheraton Bellingham Hotel is moderately upscale. The good buffet breakfast is not included in the room rate. Because Loretta reserved rooms when the hotel was a Best Western with breakfast include, our group got a complimentary breakfast. It wasn't anything to rave about, but it was free.

​ Our group began the ride around 8:30 again. We rode through Whatcom Falls Park (where none of us dismounted to see the falls) and then alongside Lake Whatcom. Although the lake is a source of drinking water, the is a lot of development around it and it is a popular recreation area.

​ We soon left the lake and turned north into famland. A short stop at a park for a nature break managed to split our group. We carried on to the pretty small town of Lynden where we stopped at Avenue Bread for lunch. I had a cranberry turkey sandwich and a cold brewed coffee. This was my first cold brewed coffee and it was very flavorful. I could become an addict. We sat outside at a table and watched other cyclists go by.

​ After lunch, we headed for Canada. Approaching the border, we reached a T with a road that was split by a large ditch. Roy and I turned left and reached the border control. We waited for the others because Halga had Roy's passport. We soon saw them riding on the road on the other side of the ditch in Canada. We went into the customs building to get our passports checked with Roy very nervous about not having his passport. No problems, though. The women realized that they were on the wrong side of the border and navigated back to the customs building.

​ After the stress, we calmly rode to the Best Western Plus Country Meadows Inn in Aldergrove, BC. I had to wait for a long time for my room, but it was OK because I could catch up on my internet sites using the hotel's wifi network.

After Happy Hour, most of the group went to the White Spot for dinner. It was attached to the hotel so it was easy to get to.
