Silver Cloud Hotel has a huge breakfast room. I saw most of our riders there. The buffet was average - rubberized scrambled eggs, limp fried potatoes, link sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffles, juices, coffee, cereal, muffins and bread. I opted for cereal, orange juice and a Costco muffin.

After I ate, I took my bicycle on a short test ride on the Burke-Gilman Trail. I made a u-turn at a bicycle shop after going inside for a peek at its merchandise. My bicycle was handling well.

Our group ride started at 10:30 with Loretta as our leader under threatening skies. We rode along trails and calm city streets throught lots of neighborhoods with very nice houses and wooded areas. We had lots of stops to wait for stragglers. Our destination was Seattle Center where we stopped for lunch. This was the location for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. It is now a park, arts and entertainment center and the location of the Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. Most of us ate the a giant food pavilion. I had a Subway sandwich.

Olympic Sculpture Park

Our route after lunch took us to the waterfront where we walked through the Olympic Sculpture Park. Then we rode back to the hotel along more bicycle paths and designated bicycle streets. Seattle has a wonderful infrastructure for safe bicycling.

When I reached the hotel, I cleaned up and walked over to University Village where I stopped into the Ram where I had an IPA and some spicy fried calamari.

When it was time for Happy Hour, I walked over to Loretta's house with Rose Eicker and Pam Kelly. It was raining lightly. After Happy Hour several of us walked over to Zouave, a very good neighborhood Italian restaurant. I had pasta with sausage. We all shared a yummy tiramisu. My dinner companions were Loretta, Yvonne, Rose, Pam, Nancy Mcaravy, and Roy and Helga Smith. After dinner the rains opened up. We fast walked to Loretta's where she and Yvonne drove us to the hotel.
